2D and 3D X-ray imaging

Modern diagnostic imaging is an important part of precise dental treatment planning. We use the Planmeca ProMax 3D system, which provides both conventional 2D imaging and detailed three-dimensional CBCT examinations.

2D Imaging

• Panoramic X-ray (OPG) – provides a comprehensive view of the teeth, jaws and surrounding anatomical structures.
• Maxillary sinuses – imaging of the maxillary sinus region.
• Temporomandibular joints (TMJ) – imaging of the temporomandibular joints.

3D CBCT Diagnostics

CBCT allows us to examine the selected area in three dimensions and obtain diagnostic information that may not be sufficiently visible on conventional 2D X-rays.

• 3D imaging with a field of view of up to 11 × 8 cm
• targeted examination of individual teeth and their root canal anatomy
• imaging of a single jaw or both jaws
• examination of the temporomandibular joints (TMJ) and other anatomical structures
• planning of endodontic and endodontic retreatment procedures
• 3D planning of implant treatment
• integration of CBCT data with digital dental scans for the planning and performance of guided implant surgery

Digital Treatment Planning

For us, a 3D scan is not simply an image – it is an integral part of our digital diagnostic and treatment-planning workflow. CBCT data can be combined with digital scans of the teeth and used when planning complex endodontic treatment, prosthetic treatment or guided implant surgery.

Secure Digital Image Sharing

X-rays and CBCT scans can be securely shared electronically with the patient or referring dentist via our server. A download link is sent by e-mail, while access is protected by a password delivered separately via SMS.

Booking an X-ray / CBCT Examination

 

For a standalone X-ray or CBCT examination, an appointment must be made in advance and a referral from the referring dentist is required. Appointments can be arranged through our reception or online.
